Fashion runs in Virginia's family for centuries including recent generations-her mother Jeanette Cathey, her deceased namesake grandmother Virginia L. Cathey, and aunt Carol (also known as Carolyn Richardson), and she grew up immersed in an artistic family. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Virginia has been designing since before she had words for it.
She created her entire wedding wardrobe herself, and has designed for others' most important moments ever since. She has showcased her brand nationally and has become a crowd favorite during NYFW. She has also accomplished something no other fashion designer has. She hand picked 60 models from 14 states from a database list she created from 26 years of doing shows with new and familiar models. She hand picked for what she considers to be her biggest and most intimate show. Her 50th Birthday Gala Extravaganza! That would be the first time that models changed on the stage to show the versatility of most of the garments imagined and hand crafted by Virginia Cathey.
Featured in over 60 publications including Harper's Bazaar Vietnam and showcased at New York Fashion Week, Virginia has built a body of work that wraps you in confidence and reminds you of your power.
